Story Highlights:

The first Test between India and England will commence from June 20

The first Test of the series is set to take place at Headingley in Leeds

Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun believes that the bowling attack which is set to participate in the upcoming five-match series against England, needs to adapt to the pitches as soon as they can. He also advised them to stay patient and take the challenge of dominating the English batters on their home soil.

With star pacer Jasprit Bumrah to only play three Tests in the highly important series, the onus will be on the other bowlers to deliver. The Men in Blue opted to go for three pacers other than Bumrah for the tour and added two fast-bowling all-rounders as well.

Some Indian bowlers will be experiencing Tests in England for the first time

While both Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur have participated in an England Test tour before, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy will be experiencing red-ball cricket in the country for the very first time. On the other hand, the side have also picked a total of three spinners with Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar.

“India's new attack in England must trust their rhythm and adapt quickly to swing. For a bowler, small adjustments and honest teamwork are key. Focus on where to pitch, not just speed. With young talent and hunger, if they stay patient and enjoy the challenge, this team can surprise England and create their own legacy on tough overseas tours,” Arun said in a release issued by broadcasters Sony Sports Network.

Meanwhile, former India pacer Ashish Nehra also echoed the words of Arun and highlighted how important it will be for the Indian bowlers to adapt to the English conditions. He further stated that there is stability in the current attack as well.

“To me, England tour is always challenging but it's great fun as well. Adapting to the conditions will be the key and I am sure our players are capable of doing that. Bowling wise we have the experience and stability," Nehra stated.

The upcoming Test series between India and England will be quite important for both the sides as it will also mark the beginning of the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. Notably, the last time the Men in Blue won a Test series in England was back in 2007 so they will be looking to finally end the long streak and emerge victorious this time around.
