The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday named a 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against England in July, with Virat Kohli earning selection in the team pending a fitness clearance later this month. Shubman Gill will lead the side, while Jasprit Bumrah coming back in the ODI side since the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia.
After playing five T20Is against England, the white-ball tour will be followed by a three-game ODI series against the Three Lions which will be played from July 14 to 19.
Update on Virat Kohli
Sports Tak has learnt that Virat Kohli is progressing well in his recovery from the hamstring injury he endured during the IPL 2026 final. He was assessed by the CoE medical team in London and has been handed over a schedule to continue the initial phase of the recovery. He will report to the CoE on June 22 for re-assessment.

Virat missed the recently concluded ODI series against Afghanistan, where Yashasvi Jaiswal was named as his replacement. As an outcome, Jaiswal managed to hit an unbeaten hundred in the third and final ODI in Chennai on Saturday, June 20. Sadly, Jaiswal could not secure a place in the squad for England ODIs.
No Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya to secure his place in the ODI squad for England series, as he continues to recover from his injuries. The all-rounder missed a few games in the IPL 2026 as well. In the absence of MI skipper, Nitish Kumar Reddy turned out to be his natural backup option.
