Virat Kohli has sustained a mild groin strain and is likely to sit out of first ODI of the three-ODI series against England at Kennington Oval, London. Kohli did not board the team bus on July 10 after the third T20I at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

While Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to make an announcement, the injury is not serious and as a precaution he is likely to sit out from the first ODI.

In Kohli's absence, Suryakumar Yadav or Shreyas Iyer may get promoted up the order.

Kohli's last ODI appearance was against West Indies in Ahmedabad where he bagged a duck.
