Ravindra Jadeja's name was missing from India's ODI squad for Sri Lanka series.

Jadeja recently announced his retirement from T20Is after India's T20 World Cup title triumph.

BCCI has announced India's ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir. While Riyan Parag and Harshit Rana have been given their maiden call-ups to the ODI side, Ravindra Jadeja, who retired from T20Is after India's T20 World Cup triumph, found his place missing from the ODI squad.

Ravindra Jadeja to retire from ODIs too?

Jadeja's snub raises questions about his future in the 50-over format as well. Having recently won the T20 World Cup, Ravindra Jadeja, a stalwart all-rounder for India, announced his retirement from the T20 format, joining Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Consequently, Jadeja will now be limited to playing only One Day Internationals and Test matches.

Axar Patel and Washington Sundar have been selected in place of Ravindra Jadeja in India's ODI squad. Both spinners are known for their batting prowess as well. Moreover, Kuldeep Yadav, a wrist spinner, has also found a place in the team. The reasons behind Jadeja's exclusion remain unclear. It is uncertain whether he has been rested or if there are other factors at play. Nevertheless, Jadeja continues to be a pivotal member of the Indian Test team.

The 35-year-old Jadeja has represented India in 74 T20Is, scoring 515 runs and taking 54 wickets. In ODIs, he has amassed 2756 runs and 220 wickets in 197 matches. Jadeja has also been a force in Test cricket, with 3036 runs and 294 wickets in 72 matches. Jadeja last featured in an ODI match during India's World Cup final against Australia on November 19, 2023. It will be interesting to see whether Jadeja continue his ODI stint or call it quits to the format the way he did in T20Is.
