The Indian cricket team is taking on Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, on August 4 (Sunday). Captain Rohit Sharma has achieved multiple feats and moved up on three different lists in the 50-over format. He has surpassed former Indian captains Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni on the list of leading run-scorers for India in ODIs. He has also surpassed legendary Sourav Ganguly but on a different list.
Rohit has overtaken Dravid who has 10,768 ODI runs from 340 games at an average of 39.15 including 12 centuries and 82 fifties and also MS Dhoni on the list of leading run-scorer in ODIs. Dhoni has 10,773 runs in ODIs (including runs for the Asian team). Rohit also went past former India captain Sourav Ganguly on the list of leading ODI run-scorers on Asian soil. He has 6,422 runs from 147 ODI innings in Asia. He will take the seventh spot.

In the first ODI of the series at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, he attacked the bowlers in the run chase of 231. He hit seven fours and three sixes in his 47-ball 58 before getting out lbw to left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage. However, apart from Rohit's half-century, no other batter could convert starts into big scores. Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka struck twice off consecutive balls in the 48th over as India were bowled out for 230 and the match was tied. He showcased the same form in the second game and completed his fifty in the powerplay itself. India are chasing 241 runs and his fifty helped the Men in Blue post 76 runs in the first 10 overs itself.
Big knock to enter another list of legends
Rohit eyes to achieve another massive feat. If the star batter scores 78 more runs in the second ODI. He has 1,922 runs from 53 ODIs against Sri Lanka.
