Sri Lanka have announced their ODI squad for the upcoming series against India which is slated to start from August 2. Sri Lanka Cricket has named Charith Asalanka as the captain for the ODI series against India. The 16-member squad also includes Kusal Mendis, who previously led the team during parts of the ODI World Cup, and rising star Nishan Madushka. Sri Lanka selectors have apparently dumped Kusal Mendis as ODI captain and given Asalanka the job in ODIs too.

The three-match ODI series will be played in Colombo, starting on August 2nd and concluding on August 7th at the R Premadasa Stadium. The series follows the ongoing T20I outing between the two nations.
Nishan Madushka Earns ODI Call-up
Promising young batter Nishan Madushka has been rewarded for his impressive Test performances with a spot in the ODI squad. The 24-year-old, who averages 42.07 with a double century in eight Test matches, will be looking to make his mark in the limited-overs format. Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan team will be without the services of fast bowlers Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara for the ODI series. Chameera continues to recover from bronchitis and a respiratory infection, while Thushara is sidelined with a fractured thumb.
