The thrilling season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will begin on March 22 with a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings.
Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) will kick off their campaign on March 23 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mohali.

DC have signed Jake Fraser-McGurk in place of South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi. Lungi has pulled out from the league due to injury setbacks and personal reasons. Fraser-McGurk has joined DC for his reserve price of Rs. 50 lakh.

Talking about the DC's track record, the Delhi-based franchise has never bagged the IPL title. However, they have qualified for the tournament only once in the 2020 edition.
The 2020 season was the thirteenth edition of the IPL. Mumbai Indians (MI), the defending champions, successfully retained their title with a five-wicket win over DC in the final on November 10, 2020. DC opted to bat first and posted a total of 156/7, which MI comfortably chased down.
26-year-old Pant will captain the Delhi-based franchise in IPL 2024 as he has received clearance and approval from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to lead the DC team in the upcoming season.
