The left-arm seamer has failed to make any impact with the ball while his returns with the bat have been abysmal.

Former India captain and legendary batter, Virender Sehwag launched a scathing attack on Punjab Kings (PBKS) stand-in captain Sam Curran. Sehwag's blistering opinion came after the PBKS lost yet another match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during their face-off against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 21 (Sunday). Without mincing his words, Sehwag opined that a player like Curran is of no use and the franchise should not keep him in their squad.

"I wouldn't keep Sam Curran as a batting all-rounder or a bowling all-rounder. Because such a player is of no use, who does some batting and some bowling. Either you win the game with your batting or win the game with your bowling. Either you hit the bullseye or you don't perform at all," Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

Torrid run continues for Sam Curran

When the PBKS franchise forked out a whopping sum of Rs 18.50 crore to acquire the services of Sam Curran in the auction prior to IPL 2023 last year, it raised a few eyebrows. Furthermore, the franchise's decision to retain the England all-rounder for the 2024 season of the IPL came as a shock to avid cricket followers.
