BCCI are currently holding a meeting with IPL franchise owners.

Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal who is currently in a meeting with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) along with all the franchise owners to discuss for the upcoming mega auction set to take place later this year revealed that the cricket board will announce their verdict of this meeting in August later this year.

Parth Jindal on retention

He revealed that all some franchise owners want to reteain 8 players and some want to retain 10 but the cricketing board will decide what to do with the retention rule.

“Just to hear all the different perspectives from all the owners and the BCCI has heard us and now they will give us all the you know the rules hopefully by the end of August we will get to know the rules for the next cycle. Nothing, nothing, people want, some people want 8 to 10, some people want 4, some people want 6, it's all up in the air.  No, I think it depends on what the views are. We should take some other owner's views also” said Parth Jindal.

Parth Jindal on Impact player rule

He also revealed that there are different opinions from different players for the much-talked impact player rule of the Indian Premier Legue. He also said that he is personally against this rule.

Discussions from the Impact Player Rule? Impact Player Rule, again, different views from different people. Some people want it because it gives a chance to young players to play in the IPL. Some people don't want it because it is detrimental to Indian cricket in terms of the development of all-rounders. So it's a mixed bag. I'm on the second camp. I don't want it. I prefer the game as it is, 11 versus 11" added Jindal.

Parth Jindal for mega auction

He also said that he was surprised after he got to know that there was a debate on mega auction as well because some owners want a smaller auction.

“There was, yeah. There was. I was surprised. There was a debate. Some people said that there should not be a mega auction at all. There should be only smaller auctions. I'm not in that camp” concluded Parth.
