Agha Salman clarifies on his 'Kohli bachche easy ho jaa' text to Virat following big fight with Gautam Gambhir during IPL 2023

Pakistan's star all-rounder Agha Salman apparently texted Virat Kohli on Instagram following star India's batter's ugly fight with former cricketer Gautam Gambhir during an IPL 2023 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow on May 1. Agha Salman texted Virat Kohli, advising him to stay calm and composed. This incident came to light when Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq disclosed it during a talk show last year.

Agha Salman opens up on his message to Kohli after fight with Gambhir

Imam Ul Haq had said that Salman sent a message to Kohli saying, "Kohli bachche, easy ho jao. Kya ho gaya hai?" (Kohli bhai, take it easy. What happened?)". Several months after the Kohli-Gambhir fight, Salman broke silence on the the incident for the first time during a conversation with his Pakistan Super League (PSL) team, Islamabad United.

 

 

The 30-year-old cricketer explained his reasons for messaging Kohli and shared the reaction of the superstar Indian batter when Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan informed him about the message during the Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Pakistan in Pallekele.

"Jab unki ladai hue the usse Gambhir se, iss tarah ka situation ho gaye the match ko dekh kar ki vo heated moment tha phir ahista ahista wo funny way mai jane lag gaya tha, ki jo dekhne wale the naa wo khud keh re the ki yaar yeh kya kr rahe hai ground mai," he said.

 

"Use baad message tha, uska jo start hai vo Virat bhai hai. Maine Shadab ko yeh bata diya aur wo basically Shadab ne Virat ko bataya tha ki bhai isne apko message kiya hai aise. Virat ne kaha main abhi jaa ke dekhta hoon fir mai ska screenshot leke lagaunga. Aur vo kaafi mazaak way mai humne liya. Jo Imam ne bola Virat bacche… Aisa kuch nahi hai. I have so much respect for him," Salman clarified.

 

Salman featured in Pakistan's squads for both the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023, but he failed to make a mark there. Although he participated in the Asia Cup matches against India, but wasn't selected for Pakistan's playing XI in the ODI World Cup 2023 clash with their fierce rivals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
