Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli is all set to create history in match 62 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2024 against Delhi Capitals at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, on May 12 (Sunday). The batting maestro will become the first batter in IPL history to play 250 matches for a single franchise. However, he will overall be the fourth batter to reach this milestone after MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Dinesh Karthik.

Virat Kohli is one of the very few players to have played IPL for only one franchises. He has been the most loyal and the biggest RCB star across the years. Now, he is all set to become the first player to play 250 matches for a single team and no other batter is currently so close to reaching this epic milestone. The RCB icon has many records in front of his name from most IPL centuries to most IPL runs. He will be adding another historic record to his accolades now.

Virat Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer in IPL 2024 with 634 runs in 12 matches. He has also smashed a century this season and is consistently scoring runs for RCB. As for his team, they are currently placed in the 7th spot on the points table with 10 points in 12 matches. They are not yet out of the playoff race.

 

RCB still have two games remaining this season, one against DC and the other one against CSK. They are in a must-win situation in order to keep their chances alive and avoid elimination.
