Mohit was hit for four sixes and one four in the last over by Rishabh Pant.

Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant launched a brutal onslaught against Gujarat Titans' (GT) Mohit Sharma in the final over of the innings. Mohit conceded 31 runs in the last over and got an unwanted Indian Premier League (IPL) record in his name. Mohit now holds the record for most runs conceded in an innings. He conceded 73 runs from his quota of four overs at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on April 24.

The previous record belonged to former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowler Basil Thampi. He conceded 70 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2018. The previous record for GT belonged to Yash Dayal. The current RCB bowler conceded 69 runs from four overs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as he was hit for five sixes in the final over by Rinku Singh.

Pant tonked eight sixes and five fours in his unbeaten 32-ball 88. The wicketkeeper-batter took DC's score to 224/4 after Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to field first.

This was Pant's 19th fifty-plus score for DC, only second to David Warner who has 24 such scores. Apart from Pant, Axar Patel justified the promotion up the order. He scored 66 runs from 43 balls including five fours and four sixes.  He returned to pavillion in the 17th over. Patel and Pant's fourth wicket partnership for 113 runs is the third-highest partnership against GT for any wicket. Tristan Stubbs contributed with a cameo to the score. The South African batter scored hit three sixes and two fours in an unbeaten seven-ball 26.
