IPL 2022 Final RR vs GT: Delhi Capitals' Chetan Sakariya spotted in Rajasthan Royals' jersey cheering for former team

The Indian Premier League's (IPL) 2022 final clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) saw a guest in the stadium during the play on action-packed Sunday (May 29).

And the guest was Delhi Capitals' (DC) bowler Chetan Sakariya who was spotted wearing RR jersey as he was cheering for his former franchise in the stands in the IPL final.

It was while playing for the RR that Sakariya introduced himself to the world, his 'Wakanda Forever' celebration, in particular, was very popular among fans. Sakariya, who plied his trade for DC in the IPL 2022 didn't get too much game time in the current campaign, but he was very impressive while playing for Rajasthan.

On Sunday, he made his allegiance clear as he was seen cheering on RR in the final. As soon as Sakariya was seen wearing the RR jersey, photos of him started going viral on social media.

Sakariya's support for RR despite being in DC shows that his heart still beats for Rajasthan.

Talking about the match, GT's highly-rated bowling attack, led by skipper Hardik Pandya himself, limited a formidable RR batting unit to 130/9 in the summit clash.

Hardik (3/17) struck thrice in his four overs while Rashid Khan (1/18) delivered yet again on the big stage to put their team on course for a title in its debut season.

Rajasthan did not have the best of starts after skipper Sanju Samson decided to put runs on the board in a big final.

With more than a lakh supporting the home team, Gujarat bowlers were able to maintain the pressure on the opposition though Jos Buttler (39 of 35) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (22 off 16) tried their best to break free.

Jaiswal, who looked tentative against the pace and swing of Mohammad Shami, took more chances compared to Buttler at the start of the innings.

Rajasthan's struggles worsened when Devdutt Padikkal (2), who took eight balls to get off the mark, and Buttler departed in a space of three balls.

Rashid ended the painful stay of Padikkal before Hardik got the massive wicket of Buttler.
