In a doubly whammy for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), their star player Heinrich Klaasen has been slapped with a fine for breaching the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Code of Conduct during match no.58 of the glitzy league against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Klaasen, who scored 47 off 29 balls in SRH's losing cause, admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.7 which states the use of public criticism/inappropriate comment in the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
The match witnessed a controversy that erupted during SRH's innings after crowd from the stands had a heated exchange with LSG members near the dugout. It all happened after SRH were denied a no-ball for height despite the appeared to have gone above Klaasen's waist. Klaasen was apparently miffed at the decision and was subsequently spotted having a war of words with the leg umpire. Another surprising incident followed the former which saw Hyderabad crowd throwing nuts and bolts at LSG dugout caused a delay in the proceedings during the 19th over of SRH. After SRH’s innings, Klaasen expressed his disappointment as he missed his half-century by three runs along with a chance to help his side post a big total.

Klaasen was livid even during the mid-match interview, as he lambasted the umpires for poor decision-making and also hit out at the crowd in Hyderabad.
“Disappointed with the crowd. That's not what you want at the venue. Very disappointed (because) that broke our momentum. Not a great umpiring decision being made there, but it's part of the game,” Klaasen said.
Talking about the match, the terrific troika of Prerak Mankad, Nicholas Pooran, Marcus Stoinis late blitzes clinched a stunning victory for LSG who came from behind to rock SRH by seven wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
Aiden Markram-led SRH posted a stiff total of 182/6 riding on Heinrich Klaasen's 47 off 29 and Abdul Samad's 37 off 25. While defending a challenging target of 183, Hyderabad's bowlers did well to keep LSG's batters in check in first half of the second innings. But Mankad's impressive 45-ball 64, and Pooran (44 off 13), Stoinis' (40 off 25) six-laden knocks left SRH bowlers clueless as to where to bowl and where not to. The fiery duo belted SRH's bowlers left, right and centre to ultimately snatch victory from SRH's hand.
