IPL 2023, KKR vs RCB: Nitish Rana makes two big changes in Kolkata's playing XI, Dhoni's brigade to bat first

SportsTak

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as Nitish Rana won the toss and elected to field first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Eden Gardens stadium on Sunday (April 23).

“Would've bowled first as well. Players have grown in confidence, especially the bowling department. What is important is for everyone to contribute. Take that one good catch, one good run out. I have played a lot of cricket over here. I had a job at Kharagpur which was two hours from here. The love comes from there,” CSK skipper Dhoni said after the toss.

“Would like to bowl. Looks a good pitch. Will be better to chase if dew comes. If we can click in all three departments, result will be in our favour. Two changes - Wiese in for Litton,” KKR skipper Nitish Rana said after the toss.

Pitch Report

“It's pitch number 4 being used. Square boundaries - 56 metres and 70 metres, straight - 70 metres. The pitch looks very good for batting, it's very typical of an Eden Gardens pitch. There's a tinge of green, the grass is even, so I expect consistent bounce and consistent pace. What we've seen here is of course seamers dominate with wicket-taking, spinners a little more economical. The trend is to opt to chase. But if you score in excess of 200, you give yourself a very good chance of winning,” Daren Ganga analysed the pitch.
