Delhi Capitals (DC) needed some exceptional bowling from Mukesh Kumar in the final over to help their team to a win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, April 24. David Warner celebrated with Sarfaraz Khan.
After the game, the away side skipper David Warner, who won the prestigious trophy with SRH in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 season, led his team's celebrations alongside Sarfaraz Khan.
The duo of David Warner and Sarfaraz Khan, were seen shouting the famous dialogue “how is the josh?” after their seven-run win over SRH on Monday. A video of the same was posted by the DC social media team.
In the video, their Australian skipper can be seen leading the dressing room celebration and was joined by Sarfaraz Khan. They were shouting the famous dialogue from the hit Bollywood movie ‘Uri’, “How is the Josh?” as the team in unison replied ‘High sir.’
In the match, DC held their while defending a mediocre score of 144/9. The bowlers worked brilliantly under pressure and helped their team register only the second victory of the season. Anrich Nortje (2/33 in four overs) and Ishant Sharma (1/18) in three overs led DC's charge with the ball.
While Nortje and Sharma did what they were supposed to do, it all boiled down to Mukesh Kumar in the end. The right-arm pacer was tasked to defend 13 runs in the last over against Washington Sundar and Marco Jansen. Mukesh bowled a stifling last over and conceded just five runs.
After starting the season with five consecutive defeats, Warner's men have now won back-to-back matches. Despite successive victories, the Capitals are stationed at the bottom of the points table. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad also have five defeats and two wins in seven matches played. Aiden Markram's men are currently ninth in the standings.
Talking about Warner, the Australian explosive batter breached the 300-run mark this season during the game against the Orange Army. The DC captain has registered 306 runs in seven matches so far at a strike rate of 119.53 and an average of 43.71.
