The 15th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) will have two new teams- Lukcnow and Ahmedabad, vying for the prestigious trophy. In a situation like this all eyes were on these two teams at the IPL 2022 mega auction and everyone eagerly waited to see how these two perform at the auction table.
Lucknow Super Giants had a busy day on February 12 (Saturday) as they made some important signings in order to make a strong squad.
Two exciting signings
But two signings made by the Lucknow-based franchise attracted huge attention. The KL Rahul-led side signed Indian all-rounders Krunal Pandya for Rs 8.25 crore and Deepak Hooda for Rs 5.75 crore.
Hooda had previously left Baroda's domestic team and joined Rajasthan after having a spat with Baroda team captain Krunal Pandya. And now these two all-rounders will be seen playing together for the same franchise.
While talking about this, Lucknow Super Giants team owner Sanjiv Goenka said that “as long as you play together for the team, with a common objective and you vibe on the field that is good enough.”
“You know at the end of the day everyone need not be the best of buddies. But as long as you play together for the team, with a common objective and you vibe on the field that is good enough,” Goenka had said in an exclusive interview with Sports Today.
“We were very conscious and very specific that we wanted multidiscipline players. So if you see KL and Quinton, they are multidiscipline players. The four all-rounders are multidiscipline players. So, I think that is the way we have built the team,” the Lucknow franchise’s owner further added.
While talking about this issue, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag had tweeted, “Hooda and Krunal would be a good pair. Divided by Baroda, United by Lucknow #IPLAuction.”
