Here is the list of batters who have won the iconic Orange Cap in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years

The veteran batter Shaun Marsh was the first player to win the Orange Cap as he did in the inaugural season after scoring 616 runs in just 11 games while playing for Punjab Kings, then known as Kings XI Punjab.

Matthew Hayden won the Orange Cap in IPL 2009 while playing for Chennai Super Kings. The legendary southpaw score 572 runs in 12 games that season.

The God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar was the first Indian batter to win the Orange Cap. He did it in IPL 2010 while playing for Mumbai Indians. He scored 618 runs in 15 games that season.

The explosive batter Chris Gayle is the only batter in history to win the Orange Cap in two consecutive seasons of IPL. He won it in 2011 and 2012 after scoring 608 and 733 runs respectively.

Legendar batter Michael Hussey won the Orange Cap while playing for Chennai Super Kings in 2013. he scored 733 runs in 16 games during that season.

Robin Uthappa is the only player in history to win the Orange Cap for three-times champions Kolkata Knight Riders. He did it in the year 2014 after scoring 660 in 16 games.

Legendary David Warner is the only batter in the history to win the Orange Cap thrice. He first won it in IPL 2015 after scoring 562 in 14 games

Legendary batter Virat Kohli is one of the three batters to win the Orange Cap more than once and the only Indian to do so. He first won it 2016 after scoring record 973 in 16 games. This is also the most runs scored by a batter in a singe season and also the only time a batter scored 900 or more runs during one edition.

Warner won the Orange Cap second time in IPL 2017 while scoring 641 runs this time in 14 games. He was once again representing Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Kane Williamson became the second batter after David Warner to win the Orange Cap for Sunrisers Hyderabad. He won it in the IPL 2018 after scoring 735 runs in 17 games.

Star opening batter who is the highest scoring overseas batter in IPL history has won the Orange Cap thrice and he won it for third time in IPL 2019 after scoring 692 runs in 12 games. He parted ways with SRH two seasons later and joined DC during the mega auction.

Star Indian batter KL Rahul won the Orange Cap in the IPL 2020 while he was representing Punjab Kings. He scored 670 runs in that season in 14 matches.

The Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has become the mainstay of CSK batting. He won the Orange Cap in IPL 2021 after scoring 635 runs in 16 matches.

The former England captain Jos Buttler has been one of the most consistent performer in the recent history. He won the Orange Cap in IPL 2022 after scoring 863 runs in 17 matches.

India's superstar batter Shubman Gill scored a whopping 890 in 17 games for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. His team finished as the runner-up that season, losing to CSK in the Final.

The only Indian to win the Orange Cap twice won it for the second time in IPL 2024 after scoring 741 runs in 15 games. He is also the leading run scorer in the history of the league.
