Liam Livingstone has joined RCB.

RCB roped him in for Rs 8.75 crores

He was previously part of Punjab Kings franchise.

The new member of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team, Liam Livingstone, believes the Chinnaswamy stadium will better suit his style of play than the Punjabi stadium. Livingstone was one of the primary international stars for the Punjab Kings for three seasons. The all-rounder, though, found it difficult to contribute consistently.

Livingstone was eventually purchased by RCB for Rs. 8.75 crore at the IPL 2025 Auction after being released by PBKS prior to the bidding wars. The all-rounder told Reuters that he believes RCB will give him a new start in the IPL and that the city venue will better fit his style of play.

Livingstone on joining RCB

"The fan base is very passionate. It's probably one of the biggest franchises in IPL... It's a bit of a fresh start for me. I think Bangalore is going to be very good for my game. It's a little bit smaller than some of the stadiums in India, certainly better than what Punjab was for me. Hopefully, my game should suit that place well," Livingstone told Reuters.

Additionally, Livingstone believes that much work must be done before he, Phil Salt, and Virat Kohli can replicate the magic at RCB. Nonetheless, he conveyed his joy at joining the team and stated that he was eager to play with Kohli.

"I think we had a really good auction. We've got some good players, we picked up quite cleverly. There's a few people in that team I know really well, so I'm pretty excited to get out there as a group. Playing with the likes of Virat is going to be really cool," he said.

Livingstone was recently appointed as England's captain while Jos Buttler was sidelined due to an injury during the West Indies tour. The all-round player claimed that he was proud of the opportunity to lead the team and that he liked it.

"I enjoyed captaining my country, it's a very proud moment for anybody to do that ... thankfully I'm fit at the moment and it's great playing something that we love," Livingstone said.
