Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a narrow two-wicket win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL 2026 clash on Sunday, May 10 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur. However, RCB's star finisher Tim David has grabbed a lot of eyeballs but for negative reasons.
Did Tim David make an obscene gesture against MI?
In a viral social media clip, the Australian player was allegedly shown making an obscene gesture after RCB's close win over MI. In the video, David was seen making a middle-finger gesture from the dugout, just after the side claimed a thrilling win.

However, Sports Tak was unable to verify the authenticity of the clip and if it was actually from the game against MI. It remains to be seen if David does get punished for his offensive celebration.
While Chasing 167, Tim David failed to create an impact with the bat, as he was dismissed on a golden duck off Corbin Bosh's delivery with Ryan Rickelton taking an easy catch.
How Tim David has fared in IPL 2026
After being brought back by RCB after their title 2025 triumph, Tim David has managed to put in some good performances for the Rajat Patidar-led side in the ongoing IPL 2026. The Australian player has scored 232 runs in 11 matches at an average of 46.40 clocking a massive strike rate of 196.61.
His highest score of unbeaten 70 runs off 25 balls came against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). His valuable contributions in the lower order is giving a right balance to RCB in 2026. It will be interesting to see if he could continue the same form in the later stages of the tournament.
