Lucknow Super Giants's star bowler Digvesh Rathi once again turned heads with his contentious celebration during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede stadium on April 27.
Digvesh Rathi unleases signature celebration again after getting rid of Ryan Rickelton
Put to bat first Mumbai Indians' star opener Ryan Rickelton came up all guns blazing and proved his batting might. Ryan Rickelton displayed aggressive intent from the outset against the Lucknow Super Giants' bowling attack. The left-handed batter appeared to be in formidable form, attacking every bowler and propelling his team to a strong start. Ryan Rickelton's powerful hitting saw him dispatch the ball to all parts of the ground, culminating in a sensational half-century. He took just 25 balls to reach the 50-run mark, marking the fastest fifty scored by a Mumbai Indians batsman in the current IPL 2025 season.
Given his dominant batting display, there was a strong anticipation that Rickelton might go on to score a century. However, his innings was brought to an end by Digvesh Rathi. LSG's mystery spinner finally put a leash on Rickelton's innings and claimed the crucial wicket in the ninth over, providing his team with a much-needed breakthrough. Digvesh Rathi's delivery was a googly bowled wide of off-stump, which gripped and spun sharply. Ryan Rickelton created room to attempt a big shot over extra cover but ended up slicing the ball to the right of Ayush Badoni at backward point, thus losing his wicket after a blistering start. Upon Ayush Badoni completing the catch, Digvesh Rathi celebrated the dismissal with his characteristic notebook signature celebration on the field.
