Delhi Capitals (DC) wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Virat Kohli were involved in a friendly banter during their last outing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Rahul stole the limelight during the same fixture that took place in Bengaluru earlier, and after leading his side to victory, his celebration had gone viral on social media. KL Rahul had marked a circle on the ground, showcasing that Bengaluru is his home ground.
After taking revenge against DC, Kohli had a similar moment in Delhi, when he helped the Bengaluru-based franchise get the win with the batting icon scoring a fifty, whilst Krunal Pandya did the heavy lifting with the match-winning knock as RCB got their revenge and also got on top of the table.
After RCB's win against DC, both stars embraced each other and had a small conversation where Rahul was seen mentioning how he was relieved to see that Kohli had gotten out. DC shared a clip where both stars can be seen talking to each other. Here is the video.
“That’s what I was telling him. Good, you got out," Rahul told Kohli in a video that was shared by Delhi Capitals’ official handle.
Kohli responded by revealing his plans had he stayed unbeaten in the chase. He wanted to do the same celebration but give Rahul a hug in the end, showcasing their brotherly relationship.
“You know what I was thinking? I’ll finish the match and do this, and come to you and give you a hug. These guys don’t know how we are off the field," Kohli commented.
However, Kohli got out on 51 with Dushmantha Chameera getting his wicket in the last ball of the 18th over of the second innings.
Krunal Pandya’s all-around display ended up getting the win and now also holds the record for the most wins away from home in a single edition of the IPL. RCB will now face Chennai Super Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 3, 2025 (Saturday).
