Gujarat Titans (GT) take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bowl first in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on May 22.
What did the captains say after the toss?
After winning the toss, GT skipper Shubman Gill said:
"We'll bowl first, looks like a good wicket. Will be good to have a target on the board. We want momentum heading into the qualifiers, these two games are going to be equally important. The way we compliment each other is great, we don't have conversations on who will take down the bowlers. No changes."
Meanwhile, LSG captain Rishabh Pant, after losing the toss, said:
"Would have bowled first, looks a good wicket. There is a challenge when you are already eliminated, but we take pride in playing cricket. As a team, we are trying different options that give ourselves the best chance of winning. Akash Deep comes in, and a few more changes for us."

Pitch Report
Pitch is closer to the western side of the ground. Boundaries are between 57 and 70 metres. Surface has been among the most consistent pitches through the tournament. But it looks green from afar today, Murali Karthik says. Average total is 192, important thing is teams batting first have won four of the five games. Black soil from Orissa has been rolled in nicely. There'll be some assistance for the seamers but it'll still be lots of runs.
