Ashok Sharma bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2026 vs RR.

RR scored 210 runs against GT.

Gujarat Titans pacer Ashok Sharma bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2026 on Saturday (April 4), clocking an impressive 154.2 kmph against Rajasthan Royals.

With this, he went past Anrich Nortje’s earlier mark of 150.9 kmph this season, becoming only the second bowler to cross the 150 kmph mark so far.

The delivery came on the last ball of the 16th over and it wasn’t just fast, it was perfectly executed. Dhruv Jurel was on strike, and the ball landed right in the blockhole, making it very difficult for him to play. In fact, he struggled to even spot where the ball went after that.

However, Ashok’s delivery is still some distance away from the fastest ball ever bowled in IPL history. That record is held by Shaun Tait (157.71 kmph), followed by Lockie Ferguson (157.30), Umran Malik (157), Mayank Yadav (156.70), and Nortje (156.22).

How is ball speed measured in cricket?

Ball speed in cricket is measured using radar guns, similar to the ones used by police to check vehicle speeds. These devices are placed behind the sight screen at both ends of the ground.

They send out radio waves that bounce off the moving ball. As the ball travels, the frequency of the returning wave changes. The machine uses this change to calculate the exact speed of the delivery.

The speed shown on TV is recorded at the moment the ball leaves the bowler’s hand, because that is when it is moving at its fastest.

RR scored 210 runs vs GT

Dhruv Jurel played a smart and attacking innings of 75 runs off 42 balls to help Rajasthan Royals reach a strong total of 210 for 6 against Gujarat Titans in their IPL match.

He balanced aggression with control, choosing the right moments to attack while also keeping the innings steady. Earlier, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gave the team a solid start, setting the base for a big total.
