Iceland Cricket, who are known for its unique and up-to-date social media posts, praised the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) after their seven-wicket dominating win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in the 18th edition of the tournament.
Iceland Cricket took their 'X' formerly known as Twitter to praise the Mumbai Indians (MI) for their performance in IPL 2025. Here is the post.
"Mumbai, never say die" wrote the Iceland Cricket.
Earlier, MI pacer Trent Boult backed skipper Rohit Sharma to play a pivotal role for the team in the remainder of the IPL 2025 following back-to-back half-centuries that signalled his timely return to form.
After SRH collapsed to 143/8, MI, powered by Rohit's commanding 46-ball 70, chased down the target in just 15.4 overs. The emphatic win not only boosted their net run rate but also propelled them to third place on the points table.
"I think the whole side, the whole Mumbai Indians squad possesses some world-class players and obviously Rohit needs no introduction in that regard," Boult said at the post-match media interaction.
"I'm sure everyone wants to be contributing at some points, but Rohit's doing a fantastic job of late and playing nicely just at the right time. So he's going to play a huge role for us in the remaining part of the season. I think you just need to be prepared for any role,” he added.
MI who had a forgettable start in the IPL 2025, has made a comeback after registering four consecutive wins against Delhi Capitals (DC), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and SRH again to stay in the race for the playoffs of the marquee event. MI are currently third in the points table after Gujarat Titans (GT) and DC.
MI are currently preparing for their upcoming clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) which will take place on April 27 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
