2025 IPL Auction Updates: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made some obvious retentions prior to the IPL mega auction that took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Their five retentions included skipper Pat Cummins who led SRH to the IPL 2024 final along with Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, and Travis Head. Heinrich Klaasen became the most expensive retained player in history for a whopping Rs 23 crores. They have assembled a great squad and would like to put on a dominating performance like IPL 2024 next season
Their squad consists of 20 players in their squad and have got some really big names added to the set-up with Mohammed Shami and Ishan Kishan. They also have some homegrown talent like Rahul Chahar and Harshal Patel. They failed to clinch the title last time but now will be eyeing to end that.

How have SRH fared in IPL so far?
SRH have won the title only once and would like to get more titles in front of their name. They finished as the runner-up in the previous season. Klaasen scored 479 runs from 15 innings at an average of 39.91 including four half-centuries. He scored at a strike rate of 171.07. Cummins who is the second-most expensive player in the history of IPL auctions claimed 18 wickets from 16 matches at an average of 31.44 in IPL 2024 season. Abhishek scored 484 runs from 16 innings at an average of 32.26 including three half-centuries. His strike rate was an outstanding 204.21. Abhishek's opening partner Head scored most runs for the franchise in the season. The Australian opener scored 567 runs from 15 innings at an average of 40.50 including one century and four fifties. His strike rate was a little lower than Abhishek at 191.55.
