Kolkata Knight Riders' captain Ajinkya Rahane (C) shakes hands with Chennai Super Kings' Ravindra Jadeja (R) at the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 11, 2025.

Story Highlights:

Jos Buttler will have to score big to get hold of the orange cap.

As LSG take on GT, it will be a three-way race for the orange cap.

KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane crossed the 200-run mark on April 11.

On April 11, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won a low-scoring encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) comprehensively by eight wickets. KKR chased down the target of 104 with 59 balls to spare. After a blazing start, skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Rinku Singh remained not out as KKR registered their third win from six games. Rahane's unbeaten 20 off 17 balls helped him take the fourth spot in the orange cap race.

There were no changes in top 10. CSK batters faltered at home. Rachin Ravindra was the second to fall as CSK struggled in the powerplay overs. However, with just four runs to his name, he moved into top 15 run-scorers. Ravindra has 149 runs from six innings at an average of 29.50, including one half-century.

Battle for the ornage cap in LSG vs GT encounter

Plenty of changes are expected on double-header Saturday. In the first match, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lock horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) at home. LSG will have healthy competition as Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh fight for the orange cap. Pooran has the orange cap in possession but there isn't much to differentiate between him and LSG opener Marsh.

Meanwhile, their opponent top-order batters are in contention as well. Sai Sudharsan is in the second spot and there is a 15-run difference between him and Pooran. Meanwhile, Buttler can move up the ladder as well if he scores big in Lucknow.
