IPL 2025 Purple Cap Standings: CSK bowlers on top, Thakur misses top 5 spot by a whisker

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowlers Noor Ahmad and Khaleel Ahmed hold the top two spots in the leading wicket-takers' list in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. CSK's left-arm chinaman bowler Noor has not been at his best in last few games. He bagged one wicket in the clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and retained the purple cap. 

Noor's teammate Khaleel struck twice with the new ball dismissing skipper Shreyas Iyer and Marcus Stoinis. Khaleel has 10 wickets, same as Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya.

Thakur misses, Rathi holds on to top 10 spot

In the first game of April 8, Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) pacer Shardul Thakur missed a spot in top five. Thakur has nine wickets from five games. He was expensive but got the wickets of captain Ajinkya Rahane and Andre Russell. Gujarat Titans' (GT) Mohammed Siraj and Delhi Capitals (DC) Mitchell Starc have nine wickets each as well.

Meanwhile LSG's mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi maintained his spot in top with the wicket of his idol Sunil Narine. He is placed ninth with seven wickets from five games. In the same ficture, KKR's Varun Chakravarthy missed out on moving up in the standings. He is placed 12th wicket six wickets from five games.

Siraj, Kishore to move up

On April 9, two GT bowlers will have a chance to climb up. If Siraj takes three more wickets, he will take the purple cap from Noor. Their left-arm spinner Ravisrinvasan Sai Kishore can move up to. Kishore has eight wickets from four games and is currently at number seven.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals (RR) don't have a bowler in top 10. Their overseas leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga who has six wickets from three games can enter the top 10.
