Sunrisers Hyderabad's hotel catches fire, team evacuated safely

Players from the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Indian Premier League (IPL) club were staying at the Park Hyatt hotel in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, when a small fire broke out there on Monday. The spa on the third floor of the opulent hotel was where the fire started. When the fire incident happened, the crew was departing the hotel.

The hotel workers quickly put out the fire, according to the police, and no casualties or injuries have been reported. Without serious harm, the situation was brought under control. The event did not injure any of the hotel's employees or visitors, according to authorities. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

SRH in IPL 2025

As for SRH, they finished runners-up in the 2024 edition of the cash-rich league and were considered among the favourites in this season as well. However, their performance has been the opposite of the expectations of the fans and experts. Their aggressive style of play, which set them apart from everyone else in the previous season, failed badly apart from two games.

They demolished the Rajasthan Royals in their first game and then went on to lose four consecutive games. However, they bounced back in their previous game against Punjab Kings. However, they are still at the 9th spot in the points table with just four points in 6 games.

They will now face Mumbai Indians in their next IPL 2025 game, and it will take place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, on April 17 (Thursday).
