Lucknow Super Giants star batter Nicholas Pooran has created a new record in IPL in their clash against Gujarat Titans, which is being played at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, April 12.

Nicholas Pooran beats KL Rahul

Nicholas Pooran has failed to create an impact with the bat during his stay at the crease, as he managed to gather only 19 runs off 21 deliveries with two sixes. The star left-handed batter's gusty inning made him LSG's top scorer ever in the Indian Premier League.

Pooran creates big feat for LSG

In 47 games for the Lucknow-based franchise, Pooran has scored 1415 runs with the help of 10 half-centuries, with his best score being an unbeaten 87. Before him, KL Rahul was LSG's top scorer, scoring 1410 runs in just 38 matches between 2022-2024.

Nicholas Pooran's disappointing performances in IPL 2026

In the ongoing IPL season, Pooran is struggling to replicate his fiery form from previous years for the Lucknow Super Giants. In four innings, the former West Indies batter has gathered only 41 runs at an average of 10.25 and a poor strike rate of 85.42. Meanwhile, this decline in form comes after a record-breaking 2025 season and a Rs 21 crore retention ahead of this edition.

LSG in pressure vs GT

At the time of writing, LSG is currently reeling at 120-6 with Mukul Choudhary (14 not out off 10) and newly signed South African all-rounder George Linde (1 unbeaten off 3) in the middle. It will be interesting to see if Lucknow could reach a competitive total against Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans.

For Gujarat Titans, Mohammed Siraj impressed with the ball in his four-over spell of 1/19, after coming off a disappointing performance against Delhi Capitals in the last game.
