Teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will once again be under the spotlight as Rajasthan Royals (RR) prepare to face Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 2 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at Mullanpur on May 29.
The winner of the high-voltage clash will advance to the IPL 2026 final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Narendra Modi Stadium on May 31.
After his breathtaking 97-run blitzkrieg against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator, expectations are sky-high from the 15-year-old youngster, who has rapidly emerged as one of the biggest breakout stars of the tournament.
Sooryavanshi’s stunning numbers against Gujarat Titans
Sooryavanshi has already established an outstanding record against GT despite playing only a handful of games against them.
The aggressive left-handed batter has featured in three matches against GT so far and has scored 168 runs at an average of 56 and an astonishing strike rate of 221.
One of his most memorable innings came during IPL 2025 when he smashed a breathtaking century off just 35 deliveries against Gujarat Titans.
The innings included seven fours and 11 sixes as the youngster completely dismantled GT’s bowling attack with a strike rate of 265.78.
Opening alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reached his half-century in just 17 balls and eventually powered Rajasthan Royals to a dominant victory in only 15.5 overs.

Key battles Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could face against GT bowlers
Despite Sooryavanshi’s explosive record against GT, there are still a few bowlers who have managed to trouble him.
Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has dismissed the youngster once while conceding just eight runs in eight deliveries across two innings.
Star spinner Rashid Khan has also managed to keep Sooryavanshi relatively quiet compared to other bowlers. Rashid has conceded only 13 runs in 10 deliveries while also dismissing him once.
However, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s fearless batting approach and aggressive six-hitting ability continue to make him one of RR’s biggest weapons heading into the all-important Qualifier 2 clash.
The teenager also crossed the 60-sixes mark during IPL 2026 and further extended the tally during his brutal knock against SRH in the Eliminator.
