Sai Sudharsan got out hit wicket moments after hitting a boundary off the same delivery.

RCB posted a mammoth 254 and dominated GT in Qualifier 1.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT), who are currently locking horns at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala, for a direct spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final, witnessed one of the strangest dismissals of the season.

GT opener Sai Sudharsan was dismissed in bizarre fashion despite smashing a boundary off the very same ball he got out on during Gujarat’s massive run chase against RCB.

The unusual moment quickly went viral on social media as fans were left stunned by the freak dismissal.

The bizarre dismissal took place during the second innings while the Gujarat Titans were chasing a mammoth target of 254 runs against RCB.

RCB pacer Jacob Duffy was bowling his second over when Sai Sudharsan attempted an attacking stroke on the third delivery.

The GT batter successfully smashed the ball towards the boundary ropes and collected a four, but what happened immediately after left everyone surprised.

As Sudharsan completed the shot, he accidentally dropped his bat. After bouncing on the pitch, the handle of the bat rolled back and disturbed the stumps, dislodging the bail.

The umpires immediately checked the replay and confirmed that Sudharsan had indeed hit the wicket with his bat after playing the shot.

As a result, the GT star was declared hit wicket despite scoring a boundary on the same delivery in one of the weirdest dismissals seen in IPL history.

RCB dominate GT after posting massive 254 in Qualifier 1

Earlier in the match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru delivered a sensational batting performance and posted a gigantic total of 254 runs in the first innings.

Rajat Patidar led the carnage with an unbeaten 93 off just 33 balls, while Virat Kohli scored a blazing 43 off 25 deliveries and also scripted a historic IPL milestone of scoring 600-plus runs for three consecutive seasons.

Contributions also came from Devdutt Padikkal, Krunal Pandya and Jitesh Sharma as RCB completely dominated the Gujarat bowling attack.

In response, GT looked completely out of the contest and were reduced to 65/6 in just the ninth over. Rahul Tewatia was batting on 4 off 10 balls while Rashid Khan had just arrived at the crease when the collapse continued.

With Gujarat struggling badly in the chase, RCB looked all set to seal a direct place in their second consecutive IPL final and move one step closer towards defending their title successfully.
