Mukul Choudhary said his main goal during the chase was simple to stay till the end and take the game as deep as possible. That approach helped Lucknow Super Giants pull off a thrilling last-ball win against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 15th match of IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens.
Mukul Choudhary's mindset while chasing
Chasing 182, LSG were under pressure towards the end. But Choudhary kept his calm and changed the game with some fearless hitting. He struck important sixes in the final overs, including two in the last over, to guide his team to victory.
“It was only my second match, so I just wanted to bat till the end and see what happens,” he said after the game. “There is always pressure, but it’s also a big opportunity. I’m thankful to God for this chance.”

“My journey started when my father was not even married; he dreamed that his son would play cricket. I started at the age group level, but there were no good academies in Sikkim. I played matches in Delhi and Guragaon, and that helped me,” he said. “When I was playing against U19 versus UP, it was a low-scoring game, and I made a contribution, so he knew then that I would make it big,” he added
He remembered an important moment from his early days as well. “I played a low-scoring match at the Under-19 level against UP and made a contribution there. That’s when my father felt I could go far,” he said.

Talking about his batting style, Choudhary said he has always enjoyed playing attacking shots. “I really liked my first six in this tournament because I hadn’t hit one in my first two matches. I was just waiting for the right ball,” he said.
He added with a smile, “Since childhood, I’ve always loved hitting sixes rather than playing along the ground,” a mindset that clearly paid off in this match.
