Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma became the joint-most-expensive uncapped signings in IPL history.

The mini auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 made one thing clear that the teams are now willing to spend big money on uncapped Indian players. Franchises showed strong belief in young domestic talent, focusing more on long-term potential rather than only relying on established international names. 

Uncapped players in Chennai Super Kings 

Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings stunned everyone by buying two uncapped players, Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, for 14.20 crore each. Both players became the joint-most-expensive uncapped signings in IPL history. The Chennai-based franchise later added  Aman Khan for 40 lakh. 

Uncapped players brought by Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals also made a bold move in the mini auction by picking uncapped fast bowler Auqib Dar from Jammu and Kashmir. The Delhi-based franchise paid 8.4 crore for the right-arm pacer, who has impressed in domestic cricket with strong performances in tournaments.

Uncapped players brought by the Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders, who entered the auction with the maximum purse amount, also spent 3 crore for uncapped Tejasvi Singh, and the three-time champions also added depth to their squad by picking Daksh Kamra, Sarthak Ranjan, Prashant Solanki and Kartik Tyagi at their base price. 

Uncapped players brought by Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants were active as well, backing several uncapped names. They bought Akshat Raghuwanshi for 2.2 crore, Mukul Choudhary for 2.6 crore and Naman Tiwari for 1 crore. 

Uncapped players brought by the Gujarat Titans and the Mumbai Indians

Gujarat Titans joined the trend by signing Ashok Sharma for 90 lakh, while Mumbai Indians stuck to their long-standing philosophy of grooming young players by bringing in Atharva Ankolekar, Mohammad Izhar and Danish Malewar at their base price.

Uncapped players brought by the Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals were among the busiest teams in the uncapped market. They spent 95 lakh on Ravi Singh and 90 lakh on Sushant Mishra, while also adding Vignesh Puthur and Yash Raj Punja for 30 lakh each.

Uncapped players picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a strong statement by paying 5.20 crore for uncapped player Mangesh Yadav and also added Satvik Deswal for 30 lakh.

Uncapped players picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad also focused heavily on uncapped players, picking up Krains Fuletra, Praful Hinge, Amit Kumar, Onkar Tarmale, Sakib Hussain and Shivang Kumar, all at their base price of 30 lakh.
