Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will miss the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB), which is scheduled to take place on April 24 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The wicketkeeper suffered an abdominal injury during RR's clash against Delhi Capitals (DC).
Samson also missed RR's last IPL clash against Lucknow Super Giants, which was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In Samson's absence, Riyan Parag led the inaugural champions, and most probably Parag will again lead the franchise against RCB. Samson, who is currently on the road to recovery, will not travel to Bengaluru with the team.
Sources close to Sports Tak told that, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team’s home base with select RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehab process, he will not be travelling to Bangalore for the upcoming match against RCB. The team management is monitoring his progress closely and will take a game-by-game approach regarding his return to action.
Samson, who had to play the first three matches of the season as a batting Impact Player due to a finger injury, picked up the fresh knock during the Royals’ last match against Delhi Capitals on April 16. RR are currently eighth in the points table, winning just two matches out of eight outings. This will be RR's second outing against RCB. Earlier, the Bengaluru-based franchise defeated RCB by nine wickets.
