Rohit Sharma has been a key contributor for the Mumbai Indians this season, currently holding the position of their second-highest run-scorer. In 14 innings, he has accumulated 410 runs at an average of 31.53 and an impressive strike rate of 150.18, including four half-centuries. Despite starting the season with a duck against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and experiencing a period of low scores in his initial seven innings, Rohit quickly turned his form around. The opening batter rediscovered his touch in the reverse fixture against CSK, where he played a match-winning innings of 76 off 45 balls*. He continued this momentum by notching up additional match-winning fifties against both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. His exceptional performance of 81 runs against Gujarat Titans was particularly notable, as he smashed nine fours and four sixes during the innings. During this outstanding knock, Rohit also achieved a significant milestone, completing 300 sixes in IPL history. This makes him only the second player to reach this feat, after the legendary Chris Gayle, who holds the record with 357 sixes. His impactful innings was instrumental in the Mumbai Indians posting a formidable total of 228/5 in their allotted 20 overs. In response, the Gujarat Titans were restricted to 208/6, resulting in a 20-run win for MI.
