Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag slammed overseas players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The former Delhi Capitals (DC) star questioned Punjab Kings (PBKS) star Glenn Maxwell and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Liam Livingstone's approach in the 18th edition of the tournament.
Notably, Glenn Maxwell and Livingstone are currently struggling in the IPL 2025 clash. After a dismal performance in the first seven matches of the tournament, RCB rested Livingstone for their ongoing clash against Punjab Kings.
"Players like Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone don't seem to have the hunger. They come for the IPL and treat it like a holiday with absolutely no desire to win or make an impact," said Sehwag on Cricbuzz.
Livingstone scored 87 runs in seven outings of the tournament at an average of 17.40 with a highest score of 54. On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell, who is representing PBKS, scored 41 runs in six outings at an average of 8.20. He also bowled 13 overs in the mega event, where he conceded 110 runs and picked up four wickets.
Coming back to IPL 2025, RCB are playing against Punjab Kings at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh, where the visitors restricted the hosts to just 157 runs. While writing this copy, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal are steady for the chase, where Padikkal crossed the 50-run mark and Kohli is also nearing his half century.
Gujarat Titans (GT) are currently table toppers in the IPL 2025 and Delhi Capitals (DC) are on number two. On the other hand, one of the most successful franchises, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), are currently 10th in the tally and last edition's finalists, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are on number nine.
