CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan revealed two foreign players' names

Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) Kasi Viswanathan has confirmed that the majority of their overseas players will be available for the last leg of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which will resume on Saturday, May 17 following a week-long suspension that was necessitated by the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

According to Viswanathan, Sam Curran and Jamie Overton are the only two foreign players from the Chennai Super Kings' squad who will not be returning to India to rejoin the team. Jamie Overton's absence is due to his selection in England's home ODI and T20I series against the West Indies, which commences on May 29th, making him unavailable for CSK's final two league games due to national duty. Interestingly, Sam Curran's name was not included in England's white-ball squad for the series against the West Indies, but still he won't re-join CSK squad for the remainder of IPL 2025.

"All overseas players barring Jamie Overton, Sam Curran are available for CSK".

MS Dhoni-led side are unfortunately no longer in contention for the playoffs this season. Having secured only three victories out of their twelve matches played, they are currently biting dust at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table. Their next fixture is against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, May 20.

Following their match against the Royals, Chennai will conclude their league stage campaign with a game against the Gujarat Titans (GT). This final league encounter is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 25.
