Virat Kohli is enjoying another iconic chapter with Royal Challengers Bengaluru after the Rajat Patidar-led side successfully defended its IPL title. Having ended their long wait for a maiden title in 2025, RCB followed it up with another championship-winning campaign in 2026, becoming only the third team in IPL history to lift the trophy in consecutive seasons.

On Monday, former India skipper took to social media to share a celebratory picture along with RCB skipper Rajat Patidar and teammate Devdutt Padikkal, with the trio posing with the IPL 22026 trophy. Notably, all three of them were seen wearing commemorative T-shirts carrying the message, "One Felt Nice, We Did it Twice", a perfect tribute to Bengaluru's successful title defence and back-to-back championship wins.

“We asked ourselves a question last year – can we go back to back? Here we are again," Kohli wrote on X.

While batting first, GT managed to post only 155/8 with Washington Sundar being the top scorer with an unbeaten 50 off 37 balls for the Shubman Gill-led side. RCB delivered a blistering bowling performance, With Rasikh Salam topping the charts with an impactful spell of 3/27. Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar finished the game with 2/37 and 2/29 respectively.

In the second innings, RCB openers Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer kicked off the innings in a flying fashion. Venkatesh Iyer smashed 32 runs off just 16 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes before losing his wicket to Mohammed Siraj. After Iyer's dismissal RCB endured a mini collapse, but Virat Kohli stuck to the crease and ensured the win for RCB.

At the end, Virat Kohli finished the game with an unbeaten 75 runs off 42 balls, hitting nine fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 178.57. The former RCB skipper received the Player of the Match award for his match winning knock at the biggest stage.
