Virat Kohli's brother reminds Sanjay Manjrekar of his ODI strike rate, says 'Easy to talk about 200 plus...'
ICC Commentator Sanjay Manjrekar interviews Virat Kohli of India during the Group Stage match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 between Sri Lanka and India at Headingley on July 06, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Story Highlights:

Virat Kohli's strike rate is 138.87 in the ongoing IPL 2025 season.

Kohli's strike rate was over 150 in the previous IPL edition.

Virat Kohli's brother pointed out Sanjay Manjrekar's ODI strike rate.

Former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been talking about strike rates of current players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. While Manjrekar has praised batters with high strike rate, he had kept orange cap contenders Virat Kohli and Sai Sudharsan out of his top 10 batters of the season list. Manjrekar has been often critical about strike rate of Kohli. While Kohli prefers to let his bat do the talking and stick to his T20 formula, his brother Vikas took a dig at Manjrekar by pointing out the 59-year-old's strike rate in the ODI format.

“Mr sanjay manjrekar; Career odi strike rate: 64:31; Easy to talk about 200 plus strike rates," Vikas posted on Threads.

"Priyansh Arya 69(35) Prabhsimran 83(49), last night v KKR. Yet another instance of new age batters out performing earlier generation big name batters. T20s is their game!" Manjrekar had earlier wrote in a post on X.

Kohli on his approach in run chases

In RCB's previous clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Kohli scored 51 runs from 47 balls. In the previous season, Kohli's strike rate was 154.69.

“(I focus on) Total on the board, conditions, who are bowlers due to bowl, the bowlers that are going to be hard to get away. I try and make sure my singles and doubles don’t stop and then you keep getting the odd boundary in between. The game never gets stagnant. That’s always been my focus, to keep working on rotating strike, singles and doubles. People are forgetting the importance of stitching partnerships and or going deep into the innings in T20 cricket," Kohli said in the post-match presentation pointing out his approach to run chases.

Kohli will be seen in action against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on May 3.

Kohli's record vs CSK

Kohli is the leading run-scorers against CSK with 1,084 runs from 33 innings at an average of 37.37, including nine half-centuries. His strike rate against CSK is 125.46.
