Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Jitesh Sharma believes that his team hold all the aces against Delhi Capitals (DC) because the Rajat Patidar-led side has won some tough away matches. RCB are currently on number three in the points table tally winning three out of four matches.
On the other hand, DC have played three matches so far and the Axar Patel-led side are currently table toppers, having won all their three matches.
"We have upper hand because we have played away games and we have won the difficult games.
"Also, the batting line-up which we have... everyone has chipped in. But in DC, I think they are relying on three players. So, it will be a good challenge," he said.
Jitesh also said that RCB's good run in this season of the IPL was a result of them playing smart cricket rather than going for a downright aggressive game.
"We are playing smart cricket and we are just going and bashing every bowler. We know everyone's strength and the team management has given us a proper role. It's like Jitesh will target certain bowlers and the others will look after some other bowlers.
"We are not trying to dominate blindly. It's not like we are drinking any magical portion. So, we are just trying to execute our plan," he detailed.
During RCB's last IPL outing, Jitesh faced legendary pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who made his cricketing comeback after recovering from a back injury he got in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He lauded Bumrah for his comeback clash.
"I felt as if he had just come back from the ICC Champions Trophy. Bumrah is so accurate. He was properly fit and he has done proper tests. He is on the peak right now," he said.
RCB will face DC on April 9 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. DC and RCB have played 31 matches against each other where RCB managed to win 19 matches and DC won 11. One match between DC and RCB ended without a result.
