Will LSG vs RCB clash in Lucknow go ahead amidst India-Pakistan military clash? IPL chairman gives crucial update

The match between PBKS and DC was cancelled midway in Dharamsala following air raids alert in neigbouring cities.

IPL chairman said that the LSG vs RCB match is on as of now.

A special train has been arranged by the BCCI to move players from Dharamsala to Delhi.

On May 8, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match no.58 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, was cancelled midway due to air raid alerts in Jammu and Pathankot. After the evacuation in Dharamsala, the IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said that they will wait for government's directives to decide whether the IPL 2025 will go on or not.

"We are reviewing the situation right now. It is an evolving situation. We haven't received any directive from the government. Obviously the decision will be taken keeping all the logistics in mind," Dhumal told PTI.

 

 

On May 9, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are scheduled to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Dhumal said that as of now the match will go on as scheduled. 

"Yes it is on as of now but obviously it is an evolving situation and any decision will be taken keeping the best interest of all stakeholders in mind," Dhumal said.

On May 8, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia said that keeping the escalation at the India-Pakistan border in mind, the Dharamsala game was called off.

"Keeping everything in mind, we have decided to call off today's (PBKS vs DC) match. Things are not okay as of now. That's why we called off today's match. Players, spectators and support staff's safety is priority. We will do everything that is in the best interest of the nation. We are monitoring the stituation and will take a call accordingly," Saikia told Sports Tak. 

 

 

Also, a source told Sports Tak that a special Vande Bharat train was arranged by the BCCI to move players and support staff from Dharamsala to Delhi.
