Abhimanyu Easwaran's valiant and astonishing century helped the Rest of India put up a strong fight against Mumbai in their ongoing match of the Irani Cup 2024 at the Ekana Sports City Stadium. His knock helped the ROI side counter the mammoth 537 run score they put in with the help of Sarfaraz Khan's unbeaten double-ton. However, despite the knock, he missed out on reaching the big milestone by the barest of margins as he returned to the dugout after scoring 191 runs off 292 balls.

Easwaran's knock comes to an end

Easwaran completed his century on Day 3 in just 117 balls, which demonstrated his class and skill. His knock was the real highlight for the Rest of India side. His impressive performance continued to impress spectators and experts alike. Easwaran continued his impressive form and reached the 150-run milestone before the end of Day 3.

He later added 40 more runs on the fourth day and kept the ROI side in the game. However, just when everyone thought that he would score a double ton just like Sarfaraz Khan, Shams Mulani provided Mumbai with the biggest breakthrough of the match and dismissed the set batter.

ROI reach the 400-run mark before lunch

The Rest of India riding on Easwaran's 191 and Dhruv Jurel's 93 managed to keep the fight alive against Mumbai. ROI before lunch did lose the wicket of their star performer but managed to reach the 400-run mark. Currently, ROI are trailing behind by 137 runs. Manav Suthar and Saransh Jain will take the stand for ROI again post-lunch and would like to add a good partnership.
