Back of a length, nipping in. Shreyas Iyer rocks back to defend it, but the ball nips back to tuck him up for room. Ekes out an inside edge and it bounces past the stumps.

Wide! Dug in short, too high, on middle. Iyer ducks under it.

Pace off, short and wide on off. Iyer slaps it to extra cover. It was there to be put away.

OUT! EDGED AND GONE! A crucial wicket at a crucial time for England. Atkinson bowls in the channel, in and around off on a good length, straightening off the pitch. Shreyas Iyer is squared up as he looks to work it away on the off side by opening the bat face. Gets a feather of the outside edge behind to the keeper. Jos Buttler takes a simple catch and up goes the finger on a polite appeal. Shreyas falls after a fighting knock and India are 233/9, 6.3 overs left.

Much fuller, nipping in, on middle, Prasidh Krishna leans forward and defends it to the left of the bowler. 

Angling in, on middle, on a good length. Prasidh Krishna blocks it to the off side.

FOUR! Crucial runs for India! Pitches it much fuller, does Saqib Mahmood, just outside off. Jasprit Bumrah swiftly flicks it right of the mid on fielder for the boundary. 

Fuller in length, around off, Jasprit Bumrah covers the stumps and blocks it away to the cover region.

FOUR! Streaky! Bumper over off and middle. Jasprit Bumrah looks to take on the delivery by pulling it to deep square leg, but it climbs big on the batter. It clips the helmet and loops over the keeper. Given as runs, much to the surprise of the bowler.

FOUR! More runs! Bumrah is having a good time with the bat. Just a yard behind the fuller length, shaping in, on off and middle. Jasprit opens his stance and heaves it from the inner part of his bat through mid-wicket for another boundary. 

Full, on off, Jasprit Bumrah defends it to the off side.

SIX! All the way. Mahmood offers another bouncer, on middle. Jasprit Bumrah rocks back for the pull but gets it off the top edge. There is a fielder stationed at deep backward square leg, but he is a few yards in off the ropes, and all he can do is watch the ball fly over him. 18 runs off the over.

Attacking the stumps, shaping in. Shreyas Iyer nudges it through square leg and gets a single. Iyer pulls up while running and clutches his left hamstring.

Half-hearted appeal for LBW, but the ball is surely going down the leg side. On a nagging length, pitching it on middle and angling down the leg side. Jasprit Bumrah misses his swipe and the ball hits the pads before it bounces off toward short fine leg.

Short of a length, on middle, Shreyas Iyer pulls it down to deep square leg for another single.

Pops up but lands safely! Pitching it just outside off and slanting in, on a good length. Jasprit Bumrah looks to defend it with a straight bat, but it hits the shoulder of the bat and loops toward short third and drops in no-man's land. Single taken. 

Another good-length delivery, outside off, Shreyas Iyer drives it to cover.

Goes past the outside edge! Good-length delivery, keeping the line outside off. Gurnoor Brar lunges and looks to drive it away from his body, but it beats the outside edge.

OUT! CAUGHT! Gurnoor Brar runs out of patience and gives his wicket away. Mahmood opts against the short ball and goes fuller in length, outside off. Brar clears the front leg and swings at it. The bat turns in his hand and slices it off the outer half. It goes straight down the throat of deep point, where Gus Atkinson gobbles it up. Wicket number 2 for Saqib Mahmood. 

Much fuller, outside off, nearly a yorker. Jasprit Bumrah leans on it and looks to push it through cover, but gets an inside edge before the ball zips toward the left of the keeper. Jos Buttler does really well to get low and makes a good save. 

On the fuller side, just outside off. Jasprit Bumrah lunges to block it down, but gets nicked on the outside edge. It goes a bit uppishly but lands in front of Will Jacks at backward point.

Pitches it up, on middle, Jasprit Bumrah strides out and works it to the leg side. 

Attempted yorker, but spills out a low full toss, at the stumps. Jasprit Bumrah defends it to the right of the bowler. A wicket-maiden from Saqib. Excellent stuff.

Slams the deck really hard, short outside off. Brar drops the bat down in time to let that through.

Goes for the yorker, but slips in a full toss. Brar drives it to sweeper cover for a couple of runs.

Again, a low full toss while attempting to nail the yorker. Brar stays back and knocks it wide of mid off. Saqib Mahmood chases the ball from the inner ring and they cross for two runs.

Ouch! That's a stinger! There comes the short ball, angled in from off. Gurnoor Brar has no way to go. He tries to duck but the ball stays a bit low and darts into him and hits his right bicep.

One more short delivery, and this time, Brar knocks it between cover and point for a single.

Attacks the stumps, fuller than a length. Iyer tucks it across to square leg. A probing over from Archer. His spell comes to an end with his figures reading 3/47 in 10 overs.

Full and straight, on off. Shreyas drives it along the ground to long off for a single.

Fractionally full, outside off, Iyer creams it through cover. The fielder from deep point rushes to his right and cuts it off, keeping it down to a couple of runs.

Fired on a length, at the pads. Iyer gets across to nudge it to the leg side, but gets an inside edge on the thigh pad. The ball then rolls to deep fine leg for a single.

Slanted in and around middle, full in length. Gurnoor plays with a straight bat and knocks it to mid off.

Short in length, jumping off the pitch, into the ribs. Brar hops off and fends it in front of square leg for a quick single.

In-between length, on off and middle. Shreyas gets behind the line and blocks it down the pitch. 4 runs off the over. 7-0-34-1 so far for Saqib.

 FOUR! Gets that fine! Way too short and angled down leg. Shreyas Iyer walks inside the line, uses the pace and pulls it to deep fine leg for a boundary.

 200 comes up for India! Fuller and around off, 144 kph. Brar slices it to deep cover for a single. 

Sharp short ball, on top of off. Shreyas arches back and lets it through to the keeper.

Banged short at the ribs. Shreyas lifts the front leg up and pulls it behind to deep fine leg for a run.

Excellent bowling! Archer steams in from around the stump and bowls it short, angling it into the bodyline, generating extra bounce. Brar tries to fend that across, but gets beaten.

Short of a length, angled at the hips. Iyer whips it behind square on the leg side, but he refuses the single.

Length-delivery, around off, Shreyas hangs back and punches it but can't get it into the gap. Finds the fielder at cover.

On a back of a length, just outside off. Shreyas plays it late and guides it to deep third. This time, he calls his partner through for a single.

Around the stump. Full on off, angling in. Brar blocks it out on the off side.

Short and on top of off. Gurnoor rises with the bounce, and fends it along the ground to backward point.

Another short ball, on off. Brar stands up on the toes and defends it to the point region. Runs have come to a standstill for India in the last 5 overs or so.

Back of a length, nipping in. Iyer tries to block but gets an inside edge onto the front pad and it rolls to the off side.

A smidge fuller, on off. Iyer hangs back and taps it to cover with soft hands.

WIDE! Short and down the leg side. Iyer goes for the pull but misses. For some reason, Archer is not happy with the decision.

Short again, on the leg stump and it kicks up. Shreyas Iyer rides the bounce and fends it to the leg side for a quick single.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Axar falls cheaply this time, and England continue to pick wickets regularly. A well-directed short ball by Archer, around the off stump line. Axar leans back and tries to play the ramp shot over the keeper, but gets it feathered behind to Jos Buttler, who is not dropping those straightforward chances. India slip further down as they are 193/6, and in a lot of bother now with Iyer stranded at the other end.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Archer is tearing through the India middle order. It is going downhill rather quickly for the Indians now. Fuller from Jofra, in line with the stumps. Shivam Dube looks to lift it over the bowler. Perhaps he was anticipating a short ball and is pinned in the crease. But it is chipped off the toe end of the bat, to the right of the bowler. Archer is very alert as he bends low on his follow-through, gets both hands to his right and plucks the ball nicely. A soft dismissal for Dube, who comes and goes. India are 193/7.

No Hat Trick for Archer. But that's a sharp bumper at 147 kph. Nips into the body with bounce. It cramps the batter for room. Gurnoor Brar takes his eyes off the ball, but manages to drop it down the pitch.

Hurls it on a back of a length, on off. Shreyas defends it from the crease.

On a nagging length, on middle. Iyer turns it behind square leg and rotates the strike.

Nearly sneaked through. From around the wicket, slanting in on middle, on a good length. Patel plays outside the line of the ball. Ekes out an inside edge and it drops beside the strip on the leg side. There is a shy at the bowling end as the batters cross for a quick single. Jacob Bethell misses but Axar was in anyway. 

On off, on the shorter side, Iyer punches it to cover.

Fractionally short, on off. Iyer stands tall and looks to go over mid-wicket with the pull. Gets it of the lower half and it goes along the ground. Joe Root makes a sharp stop low to his left.

Not in control but safe. Mahmood digs it on a hard length, on off. Iyer hangs back and tries to go down the ground with a flat bat. The blade turns in his hand and he ends up slicing the ball. Harry Brook turns around and goes after it from mid off but the ball drops out of his reach. They cross.

Angled in at the off stump, on a nagging length. Iyer gets behind the line and taps it down the strip.

SIX! Clears the fence. With that, Shreyas Iyer brings up his FIFTY. Archer digs it in short but it is down leg. Iyer hops and lifts his front leg to help the pull. Uses the pace on the ball and clears the long leg fence for a biggie. 24th ODI fifty for India's vice-captain. He holds the key here to his side's chances of getting to 300.

Bangs it in short, on off. Iyer arches back and lets it through.

Pace off and into the wicket, on middle. Shreyas rolls his wrists over the ball and pulls it behind square leg for a run.

At 145 kph, a bumper under the right armpit. Patel fends it down.

Begins with a full ball, on middle. Washington pushes it back to Mahmood.

Lackadaisical running. There was a second run there all day. Mahmood bowls it on a back of a length, on middle. Sundar stands tall and whips it wide of deep mid-wicket. Washington ambles to the other end and makes a late decision to come back for the second but Iyer is not ready for it and the batters eventually settle with one.

Oh, that's sad. On a good length, on off. Iyer gets on top of the bounce and punches it to deep cover. The ball on its way to the fielder in the deep pings the seagull.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! The short ball does the trick for Saqib Mahmood. A well-directed bumper over the right shoulder. Sundar is hampered by the hamstring issue, and as a result, he is less mobile than usual. He stays rooted to the crease and gets his hands high for the pull, but the ball gets big on him and lobs behind off the gloves. Jos Buttler moves to his right and does the rest.

Very full from around the wicket, outside off. Patel fails to squeeze it out.

Bowled on a hard length by going wide on the crease, outside off. Patel sways away, drops his wrists and lets it pass.

Hits the top of off, does Archer. Iyer angles it to backward point.

Fractionally short, outside off. Shreyas punches it to deep point for a run.

Kohli survives. Into the deck, on middle. Kohli pivots on the back foot and plays more of a short-arm jab. It sneaks under the blade and brushes the back thigh on its way to the keeper. Jos Buttler gets low in front in an attempt to take the catch. Buttler is unsure and it is sent upstairs by the umpires. On the side-on angle, the spike appears when the ball has passed the bat. The third umpire is happy with it, though and proceeds to check the legality of the catch. One replay is enough for the umpire to confirm that the ball bounced in front before going into the gloves.

OUT! GONE! No doubt about this one. Jofra Archer answers the skipper's call by getting rid of the big fish. Angled in, on a back of a length, on middle and leg. Kohli tries to shovel it away with the angle but the ball is not quite short enough for the shot. A top edge is found and it goes straight down the throat of deep third, where Adil Rashid takes the catch at waist height.

Digs it in short, over off. Sundar hops and fends it down.

Across the left-hander, on a good length. Sundar plays the drive on the rise to the right of mid off for a quick single. Washington feels his right hamstring after completing the single.

Following the batter, on a length. Iyer clips it to mid-wicket.

Tossed up, on leg. Iyer backs away early but then walks inside the line to play the lap. Jos Buttler moves to his left but can't get a glove on it. It goes towards the deep fine leg fence for a couple.

SIX! Excellent use of the feet. Pushed through slightly, fuller and quicker, on middle. Iyer charges down the track and slams it over long on for a biggie. A man in a white shirt in the crowd goes for the catch over his head but ends up tumbling backwards over the row of seats behind him.

Flatter and on a good length, on middle. This is driven through mid on for a single.

Out comes the googly, on a good length, on middle. Kohli nurdles it to square leg.

Nearly went to hand. Flighted up, on middle and leg, on a length. Virat advances down the track but can't get to the pitch of the ball. He pushes out in front and ends up chipping it back towards the bowler. Rashid moves to his right and dives but the ball does not carry. 

FOUR! Not entirely from the middle of the bat, but it will work for Kohli. Good-length delivery, pitching it outside off. Virat Kohli stands tall and flat bats it over mid on for four runs. 

Hard length, on off, Kohli dabs it down.

Short, over the off stump, Virat Kohli pulls it to the left of the deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs. 

Well-directed bouncer, on middle. Virat Kohli transfers his weight on his back foot and swivels to pull it away to deep square leg to get a single. 

Top edge, but lands safely! Just a yard behind the good length, shaping in, on middle. Shreyas Iyer looks to flick it, but the ball holds a bit after pitching on the track. It catches the top edge and drops much short of the charging Jofra Archer from deep backward square leg. Single taken.

Angling in, around the pads of the batter. Virat Kohli rolls his wrists and flicks it to deep backward square leg for a single. With that, 150 comes up for India!

On the fuller side, shaping in, just outside off. Shreyas Iyer gets behind line and blocks it to the off side.

Atkinson hits the deck hard, on middle and leg. Shreyas Iyer looks to keep it out to the leg side, but the ball kicks off the track and catches the sticker of the bat.  

Pushes it fuller again, does Atkinson, around off, Shreyas Iyer eases it to point.  

FOUR! It will surely count as a dropped chance, but that was not at all an easy chance for Ben Duckett. This is another fuller one, on middle. Shreyas Iyer flicks it aerially towards deep square leg. Ben Duckett is the man who sprints to his left and dives full stretch, but the ball clips his fingertips and rolls away to the boundary cushion. Shreyas Iyer gets a lifeline here.

FOUR! With that boundary, Virat Kohli gets to his 78th ODI FIFTY! Much fuller from Sam Curran, pitching it on off and shaping it away. Virat Kohli brings out his front foot and drives it beautifully through mid off for a boundary. The crowd gives him a huge cheer, and Kohli raises his bat to acknowledge it. Kohli's 132nd 50-plus score in ODIs, second only to Sachin Tendulkar's 145.

Good-length delivery, outside off, Shreyas Iyer cuts it behind the point fielder and gets a couple of runs.

Buttler is up to the stumps now. Short and outside off. Kohli rides the bounce. Plays the pull shot using his wrists so that it goes to ground. A single at deep mid-wicket.

Hits the length, on leg. Iyer flicks it off the back foot to the right of deep mid-wicket for a single.

The slower ball, full on middle. Kohli picks the variation, waits for the ball to come and pushes it to the right of mid off for a quick single.

FOUR! Helped away! Perhaps the first loose ball bowled by Curran in his spell. Short on the ribs, on leg. Shreyas Iyer gets inside the line and helps it to long leg for a boundary.

Angled outside off, on a length. Shreyas plays off the back foot and cuts it to deep backward point. Saqib Mahmood from deep third tears through to his right and cuts it off. Two runs taken. A productive over for India as 10 runs come off it.

Dishes out a full ball, spins from middle to off. Kohli leans forward and taps to widish point for a single.

 FOUR! A boundary after ages for India. Gloriously done by Shreyas. Looped into the slot, full around off. Shreyas stays leg side of the ball and lifts it inside out over extra cover for a cracking boundary to open his account.

Full and flat, on middle. Iyer opens the bat face and caresses it to deep cover for an easy single.

The leg break, full on off, Kohli drives it straight to mid off.

Fuller on middle, Kohli clips it to the left of the diving short mid-wicket fielder for a run.

Spins away, short outside off, 78 kph. Iyer waits back and cuts it away, but finds the fielder at backward point.

From around the stump, Curran bowls it full around off. Kohli leans on and creams it to deep cover-point for a single.

A surprise bumper at 129 kph, outside off. Ishan arches back and drops his wrists to leave.

OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Curran outfoxes Kishan and picks up his first wicket. He bangs in another short ball, angling into the batter's body. Ishan Kishan shapes up for the pull shot but he is too early into the shot and toe-ends it back towards the bowler. Curran moves to the left on his follow-through and takes a simple catch. A short stay for Ishan and from 104/1, India have slipped down to 111/3.

Full and on the stumps. Shreyas drills it straight to the non-striker. The ball deflects off Kohli's legs and rolls to mid on.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! That's a soft dismissal. 9 dots in a row for Rohit Sharma and the 10th results in a wicket for England. Flighted delivery, fuller and on leg. Rohit goes down on a knee for the sweep, but the ball comes on slower than he expected. It pops up off a top edge, and it balloons to the left of Jos Buttler, who moves in that direction and gobbles it up.

On a back of a length, nipping in. Kohli defends it to the leg side. At the end of the first Powerplay, India are 61/1.

Bashes the length hard on top of middle. Rohit hops on the toes and tucks it between mid on and mid-wicket. Curran from mid on runs to his right and collects the ball. One run taken.

Fuller and outside off, Kohli strides forward and drives it straight to Duckett at cover.

Hard length, shaping away just a bit, 143 kph. Kohli gets on the back foot and dabs it to cover-point.

 FOUR! Off the mark with a lovely shot! A long half-volley by Archer, on off. Virat Kohli gets on the front foot, doesn't quite get it off the middle, but he manages to drive it as straight as he can, beating mid on to his left and picks up a boundary.

On a fuller length, around off. Kohli walks in front and pushes it to mid off and calls Rohit for a single. Brook moves a bit to his left, picks and throws in a motion and scores a direct hit at the batting end, but Rohit is comfortably in by then. 50 up for India!

Starts with a full ball, around off from over the stumps. Gill leans forward and drives it to Duckett at cover.

 BEATEN! Absolute ripper from Atkinson. In and around the off stump, on a good length. Gets the ball to kick up and nip away off the pitch. Gill is squared up completely as he looks to defend this down, and the ball zips past the outside edge. Good bounce and carry on that one.

OUT! TAKEN! Atkinson provides the first breakthrough for England. Gill tried to pierce that cover gap for a number of times, but couldn't. He is absolutely livid as he trudges off after a fantastic start. This is pitched fuller and outside the off stump line. Shubman Gill presses in front to play the cover drive, but cannot keep it along the ground and hits it flatly towards Ben Duckett stationed at cover. It leaves the bat at a rate of knots but Duckett maintains his cool and grabs it by diving to his right over his right shoulder with a reverse cup. India are 44/1 after 7.4 overs.

Full and straight onto the stumps. Virat is drawn forward and drives it firmly to mid off. A very successful over for England as Atkinson starts with a wicket maiden.

WIDE! Reload! Far, far down the leg stump line, on a length. Gill lets it through.

Back of a length, 142 kph, outside off. Gill gets on top of the ball and crisply drives it to pierce the gap on the off side, but Ben Duckett at cover dives to his left and makes a sharp stop.

Hard length, around off, Gill stabs it off the back foot to the cover region.

Pitched full and straight, on off. Gill drills it straight back at the bowler. Archer makes a half-stop on the follow-through.

Hits the hard length, on top of off. Shubman Gill waits back and nudges it to the right of Adil Rashid at square leg for a single. Gill thinks about the second, but Rohit sends him back.

At 141 kph, back of a length, around off, Rohit hangs back and dabs it to backward point.

That's a snorter from Archer! Bends his back and digs it in short on off with bounce. Rohit Sharma is rushed into the pull shot and takes his eyes off the ball. He misses and is struck on the arm.

Nips down on the pads, on a fullish length. Rohit tries to flick but misses and the ball rolls off the front pad to the leg side. They cross for a leg bye.

 FOUR! Loose ball and gets the treatment! Sprays it down the leg stump, full in length. Gill uses the pace and helps it with a tickle towards deep fine leg for a boundary. It races away in a flash.

 FOUR! Placed and timed to perfection! A leg-stump half-volley by Saqib. Shubman Gill uses his wrists and nails the flick shot in the mid on and mid-wicket gap for a boundary. That's four boundaries back-to-back for the Indian captain.

Spears one full and on middle and leg. Shubman Gill flicks it off the inner half, this time between square leg and mid-wicket for three runs.

Attacks the stumps and the length is pulled, Rohit Sharma watchfully blocks it in front.

FOUR! Gets it through, this time off the back foot. This is around the off pole, not all that short but enough for Gill. Shubman lets the ball come to him, gets on top of the bounce and punches it past cover-point for four more.

FOUR! Hit with absolute authority. Mahmood pushes the length up at the sticks. Gill gives the bowler a premeditated charge and stays leg side of the ball. He gets his hands through and slams it over cover for a boundary.

Rapped on the pads! Not given. The talk among the England players is whether there was any bat. Harry Brook has a word with his men before taking the review. Keeps it full and it tails back in, on middle and leg. Gill leans across to flick it away but gets hit on the front pad. The UltraEdge comes up with a spike, confirming the inside edge. England lose their first review.

On a hard length, on off. This rears up a bit but Gill rides the bounce and glides it down to deep third for a single.

A little too straight, on the fuller side. Gill misses out on the glance and the ball goes away off the pads towards square leg for a leg bye.

Into the deck, on middle. Rohit gets on his toes and pats it down the strip.

Fuller in length and it moves back in the air, on off. Rohit pushes in front of his body. The bat turns in his hand and he miscues it off the inner half to mid on.

DROPPED, FOUR! Gus Atkinson is the guilty party. This will not please Jofra Archer one bit. An early reprieve for Rohit Sharma. Archer bends his back and digs it in short, over the right shoulder. Rohit hops but is rushed on the pull and the ball also gets big on him. Skies it behind square leg, where Atkinson runs to his left in the deep and is on the move. He barely lays a hand on it and it catches him on the wrist before dropping to the ground, and it then trickles to the fence.

Starts well, does Mahmood. Lands it on a length, around the off stump. A confident forward press by Gill as he taps it to cover.

FOUR! Easy pickings. Floated up on the pads by Saqib. Gill needs no second invitation. Stays balanced at the crease and flicks it away. It is a bit uppish but in the big gap between mid-wicket and mid on for the first boundary of the game.

In the corridor of uncertainty now and the length is pulled back a bit. Shubman shoulders arms.

Moving away off the seam, on a good length. Not close enough to make the batter play. Gill is happy to let it go.

At 137 kph, honing in on the off stump, on a nagging length. Gill pushes out in front of his body with a straight bat. It angles in before nipping away off the deck. The ball comes off an outside edge and rolls down to deep third. They cross.

A run saved. Mahmood pitches it up, on middle. Rohit does not try to overhit this one and just pushes it back past the bowler with the full face of the bat. Harry Brook goes after it from mid off and dives to prevent the boundary. The third umpire is summoned to check the effort. Brook's left leg is ever so close to the boundary cushions when he flicks the ball away, but the third umpire is convinced that it is a clean effort.

Rohit and India are away. Archer hits the deck hard at 140 kph. Sharma hops to deal with it. Gets a bit squared up as the ball straightens off the deck. Gets an outside edge and it goes down to deep third for a single.

Wide! Digs it in short but drifts down leg. Gill ducks and lets it through.

Hooping back in, fuller in length, on middle. This stands up a bit in the surface as Gill turns it to square leg.

Bashes the surface, does Archer. Near the tramline on off. Gill frees his arms and goes after it. It rolls off the toe end down to deep third. Single taken and the Indian skipper is off the mark.
