New Zealand star batter Daryl Mitchell proved to be the side's match-winner in the second ODI of the three-match series against India. He went on to play a fine knock of 131* to help the Kiwis chase down the 285-run target with 15 deliveries left to spare and tie the ODI series at 1-1. This was Mitchell's third ODI hundred on Indian soil and it saw him achieve a monumental feat.
Mitchell breaks massive record
Mitchell has now become the New Zealand player with the most ODI hundreds against India in India. He broke the 27-year-old record held by Nathan Astle, who hit two tons in the format on Indian soil. The 34-year-old batter had scored hundreds in both the matches against India in the 2023 ODI World Cup and continued his stunning form in the ongoing ODI series.
