Kagiso Rabada breaks Allan Donald's epic record with impressive spell in 1st T20I against Australia
South Africa's star pacer Kagiso Rabada shone bright with the ball in the first T20I against Australia to break Allan Donald's epic record

Kagiso Rabada is on a trajectory to become South Africa's bowling maestro across all formats, and his recent performance in the first T20I against Australia further cemented his reputation.

Heading into the series with a fiery form, Rabada was unplayable, with the Australian batters unable to counter his varied skillset.

In the opening match, South Africa chose to field first, and Rabada immediately justified the decision by tearing through the top order with the new ball.

He first claimed the key wicket of Travis Head before dismissing Mitchell Marsh. With Marsh's wicket, Rabada surpassed Proteas legend Allan Donald, achieving a new milestone.

Rabada's two wickets in the first T20I saw him overtake Donald as the South African bowler with the second-most wickets against Australia across all formats. Donald had 98 wickets in ODIs and Tests, but Rabada's current tally now stands at 99. The fast bowler is now just one wicket shy of reaching a century of dismissals against Australia. The only South African bowler ahead of him is Dale Steyn. Rabada briefly thought he had his 100th wicket and a third for the match, but the dismissal was overturned due to a no-ball.
