South Africa's Matthew Breetzke shatters own World Record to become first-ever batter to pull off this ODI miracle
Matthew Breetzke scripted a massive World Record after cracking a magnificent fifty in the second ODI between South Africa against England

South Africa's star batter Matthew Breetzke continued his purple patch in the ODIs and ended up busting his own World Record on September 4.

Riding on his scintillating fifty, Matthew Breetzke became the first player to notch up scores of fifty-plus in each of his first five ODIs.

Matthew Breetzke tasted this glory in the second ODI against England. Just one inning after breaking former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu's 38-year-old record, Breetzke extended his own record, once again rewriting the ODI record books.

Matthew Breetzke scored a swift 85 runs from 77 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes with a strike rate of over 110. Despite his impressive performance, he was denied a second ODI century by a brilliant delivery from pacer Jofra Archer, who bowled him with what was described as an absolute peach of a ball.

In addition, his impressive score of 85 is the highest ever by a South African batter in an ODI at Lord's, surpassing the previous record of 74 set by Herschelle Gibbs in 2008.

Breetzke's 85 and Tristan Stubbs' 58 helped South Africa post a colossal total of 330/8 on the board against England
