Northern Superchargers snap Southern Brave's 8-match winning streak in final to clinch first Women's Hundred title
Northern Superchargers won their maiden Women's Hundred title after crushing Southern Brave by seven wickets in the final

The Northern Superchargers have claimed their first Women's Hundred title after crushing Southern Brave by 7 wickets in the final on August 31.

With this win, Northern Superchargers snapped an end to Southern Brave's impressive eight-match winning streak. Superchargers also denied Brave second championship and shattered their hopes of becoming the first team to complete an unbeaten season in the tournament's five-year history.

This win was especially sweet for the Superchargers, as it was a form of revenge for their 34-run loss to the Brave in the 2023 final.

The Brave were limited to a total of 115-6. In response, the Superchargers successfully chased down the target with 12 balls to spare. Annabel Sutherland sealed the victory with a six, finishing her innings on 28 not out from 25 balls.

Sutherland's unbeaten 60-run partnership with fellow Australian Nicola Carey, who scored 35 not out from 25 balls, was crucial in guiding their team to victory. The partnership had a few tense moments, including a close call for Carey when a delivery from Lauren Bell hit the bail but didn't dislodge it.

Earlier in the match, the Superchargers' bowlers set the stage for their win. Annabel Sutherland and Kate Cross both delivered standout performances, each taking two wickets for 23 runs. Cross was particularly effective, taking two wickets in consecutive balls by dismissing Maia Bouchier for 13 and Laura Wolvaardt for a duck.
