An all-rounder in the true sense, Jean Symes made his first-class debut for Gauteng in 2005 against the Easterns. Symes has represented the South African Under-19 team at the 2006 ICC Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. In early 2012, he was signed by Scotland as their overseas player for the CB40 competition. Already a part of the Highveld Lions, he was added to their T20 squad ahead of that year’s Champions League T20 to be played in South Africa.
