About Regis Chakabva
Essentially a wicket-keeper and a right hand batsman, Regis Chakabva plays for the Zimbabwean national team. When playing for the country, he doesn't generally don the gloves due to the familiar presence of Brendan Taylor behind the stumps. A useful lower order batsman, Chakabva made his debut against Kenya during the Tri-Nation tournament in 2008. He scored a defiant 41 but was not able to save his team from plunging to a heavy 95-run defeat.
He was also included in Zimbabwe's team that went to Canada. He played in a T20I against Pakistan and again did not create an impact. More often than not, he is slotted in behind Brendan Taylor to fill in as the keeper. With hardly any games under his belt, Chakabva is currently a rookie and has a lot to learn on the international scene. He is a constant member of the Zimbabwe XI team that plays tour matches and is active on the domestic circuit as well.
